Real or Fake

With messages beeping on cell phones on true friendships and being friends forever, its meaning has been changing with time, with the upcoming trends of the virtual world; there is trend of virtual friends now. Already the world has been reduced to ‘Google’ for information, and gradually friendships are shrinking to social networking sites. The interactions among friends which were common over a cup of tea are replaced by status messages and comments. It is agreeable that social networking sites do give an opportunity to find new friends but how far it is feasible to trust them? Where it seems to be a good sign for catching up with friends but more seems to be sign that a relationship of emotions becomes flaunting asset, so how real is this emotion? Where leather jacket, a sports car, a trendy phone, the right girlfriend\ boyfriend are all still factors for weighing a social status, and so is the number of people on the friends list. Although social networking on the internet helps people to collect hundreds or even thousands of acquaintances, it’s believed that face to face contact is nearly always necessary to form truly close friendships. But the fact remains why one wants to swim in the fake waves of emotion on such sites, where it’s just not about having fake friends but they create fake profiles, just to fake out their real identity, may be they are afraid of revealing it, where they want to show off themselves being someone with whom their reality don’t match with. The status of just being yourself is fading; people are forgetting the fact that it’s better to be adored by five for what you actually are then to be loved by fifty for what you are not. But it’s really difficult to distinguish what’s fake and what’s real as the person on the other side of the screen is in fact a real person, capable of all the same feelings and thoughts one experiences. Therefore those interactions can said to be just as real as every other that one experiences. There are cases where people who can’t express themselves to one they know personally, can chat about what they really are to someone whom they have not seen, so they feel this as a way of true expression, and thus a real attachment and relationship. The fact of being real or fake is very debatable but I feel the reality is never virtual, be what you are in front of the world, in such a way that it can be seen, how true may be your friends on social sites but one can’t judge someone without knowing them personally.
